Bahia Santa Maria Mexico

Bahia Santa Maria was the second stop for the Haha. This bay is enormous and could easily hold 1000 boats or more. It was a really remote area with no real facilities nearby. The Haha committee had set up for party on the bluffs, complete with food and a live band. At this stop the sea water temperature was near 80 degrees, a big difference from San Diego. It was in Bahia Santa Maria that we truly could tell we were heading south. It was starting to feel more tropical and much more like summer than November.

With the Haha boats being in Bahia Santa Maria, several panga boat operators came into the area to water taxi people to shore for the food and band. It was easier to take the panga boats than to take ourselves, plus it helped the local business.

There wasn't much on shore. A few structures, but largely uninhabited. The panga dropped us off, then we had a small hike to the food and live band.

After the party we took an adventure through the mangroves. It was so cool! We wanted to stay and extra day but the weather had different plans for us. Here are some of the pictures of our little safari:
